What you can expect to gain:
Learn how to work with your breath for optimum breathing and function of your physiology. Learn the science behind breathing and its potential for healing. By the end of the 6 weeks, you will know how to engage in a breath work & meditation practice that you can pick up anywhere, at any time.
These classes follow the initial 6 week Yoga journey of Deep Relaxation. We covered the foundations of the science behind stress and relaxation. Now we move onward and upward by cultivating a deeper connection to our practice by working with the breath and giving more time to meditation. We will, of course, move our bodies too. This class is perfect for your evening wind-down as the nights draw in and will give you the opportunity to connect to a sense of peace.
What we will cover:
Week 1 - 4th November 2021: Opening ceremony. Breath work 101. Introduction to breath work and why it is important.
Week 2 - 11th November 2021: Introduction to Ujjayi breathing and working with this breath during movement and meditation.
Week 3 - 18th November 2021: Continuing to work with the Ujjayi breath as we move through gentle and nourishing Yoga postures.
Week 4 - 25th November 2021: Regulating our breath when things become difficult. Holding postures and observing the mind and breath and exploring the relationship between the mind and body.
Week 5 - 2nd December 2021: Introduction to coherent breathing and it’s benefits. Soothing Yoga to cultivate relaxation and a sense of ease. Guided breath work and meditation.
Week 6 - 9th December 2021: Integrating what we have learnt to move with ease, breathe deeply and meditate. Guided breath work and meditation. Closing ceremony.
